Well it has been a crazy year. Since I last posted a lot has happened. Let start from the January 2010. I got super sick they thought it was pneumonia. I went on antibiotics they didn't help very much. My asthma continued to get worse. On a Friday night I didn't sleep very much at all because I couldn't breath. I was suppose to work the next morning. I think I got a total of about an hour of sleep. So I went to work and my asthma just got worse. So finally I went to the ER. When I got there I couldn't breath hardly at all. That was the most scared I have been in my entire life. So I had to stay in the hospital for two day. I got on medication and continued to see a doctor for my asthma.
March brought on new and different medical problems. It started on a Saturday night I thought I was having menstrual cramps. I was kinda disappointed because we hadn't been preventing getting pregnant. So I went to sleep early cause the next day was church. About 3 am I woke up out of a dead sleep with the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. So I went upstairs to talk to my mom about it. Finally she told me that we were going to the hospital. So we went to the hospital it took two shots of morphine to get the pain to go away. The did an ultrasound to see if they could figure out what the problem is. I go in there and they ultra sound my kidneys and my stomach. They also wanted a urine sample. I am super out of it and the nurse comes in and was checking on me. My mom finally asked what could it be. Is it a tubal pregnancy, a hernia, what could it be? The nurse said back what she said was "Well there is a pregnancy but it is in the right place." Then she just left. Like I said I was out of it. So I looked over at my mom and I asked her. "Did she just tell me that I was pregnant?" My mom says "I think so." Well a little bit late the doctor comes in and says "Well you are about 5 weeks pregnant." Well I was think that couldn't be causing this much pain. So then he says "You also are passing a kidney stone." That was the worst pain in my life. So I had to go in and have another ultra sound to find out where the stone was. So finally they sent me home with pain med and a referral to an obgyn. I cried when I found out. That was the most crazy day of my life from going to disappointment. To crazy pain to the most happy I have ever been.
So it began the morning sickness. The doctors appointment. On June 20th we found out that we were having a baby girl. And that our due day was about November 20th. My pregnancy was pretty easy. I had morning sickness for most of my pregnancy but I was able to manage it if I woke up and the first thing I did was eat. Then I wouldn't throw up but then I had to make sure I ate regularly.
So pretty much my pregnancy was normal. The first time I felt her was absolutely amazing. So then November come I started nesting I made Cheyo and I clean the whole bedroom from top to bottom, corner to corner. We went throw are clothes and got rid of what we don't wear anymore. Then we set up the crib and started to organize the baby stuff. On November 5th I was thrown a baby shower by Cheyo's Mom, Sister and Sister in law for his family. The next day November 6th my mom and sister gave me a baby shower as well for our family and our ward. I am very grateful for everything we got from our friends and family. It was truly overwhelming. We got everything we needed.
On November 12th I went to bed trying to get some sleep. But when you are 9 months pregnant you really don't get a lot of sleep. But I was in bed trying. I was having the worst back pains of in my life. I really didn't know what to do so I took a bath to try and relax. Something was just weird. Finally my mom asks me do you think you are having contractions. I said I don't know what do they feel like. So talked about how she would explain contractions and I thought I was having them. So we started to time them. The were about 10 minutes apart and lasted for 30 seconds. Finally we decided to just go to the hospital and get checked out. We got there and I was having contractions but not enough to keep me there. However my blood pressure was really high. About 150/100. So they kept monitoring me. It wouldn't go down. Finally they take some blood and run some labs on it. At that point the doctor didn't want me to go home. After they run the labs they decide that they are going to start me. That was about 8:00 in the next morning Nov. 13th. They let me eat so breakfast and take a shower. I was very grateful for that I needed to shave my legs and stuff. So they give me medication to get my cervix ready. Each dose takes about 4 hours I had 3 doses of that. After that the doctor came and broke my water and started me on pitocin. They didn't want me to be in any pain. The doctor wanted me to get my epidural right then. I was kinda worried about that but I got it and it was no big deal. At that point I was dilated to about a 2. That whole day I was progressing pretty slowly. At about 10pm everyone went home. I also tried to get some sleep. I was very numb. I got kinda scared. I really couldn't move. Which meant that I couldn't get comfortable. Also at that time the baby was being stubborn and wouldn't get monitored by the external monitor. Then the epidural started to wear off. I started hurting. I bumped my meds and that helped. At about 6:00 am. They finally came in and put the internal monitors on her. Then my mom called and she decided that she needed to come back. I was very grateful. After she got there she talked to the doctor and she told her that I should take a sleeping pill so I could get some sleep. I did and that was probably the best sleep I had gotten in 4 months. :) I woke up about 10:30 am when the nurse came in to check me. I was dilated to about 9 1/2. She called the doctor and she started on her way. I started to feel that pressure and the urge to put minutes later. The nurse and I started to push and I did very well and she was coming. She made me stop and wait for the doctor. Oh my gosh that was intense. She got there about 10 minutes later and she got ready. I started pushing again. I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to do it. It actually fairly easy to do. A few times I had to cough. When I did that the doctor really liked it. it made her come down. Between on contraction I could feel her move in the birth canal. It felt like she was shaking her head. Then finally at 11:14 am on November 14th our Baby Stefanie came into the world. She weighted 6lb 11.4oz was 19" long. Very healthy and had a great set of lungs. She was a crying. Her umbilical cord was kinda short. Cheyo was able to cut it. The nurse took her and checked her. Her first apgar score was a 9 and the second was a 9.9. I was happy. The nurse gave her to Cheyo and he brought her to me. I just held her and cried. I did it, I carried her for 9 months and kept her healthy. Then I was able to bring her into this world, healthy. While I was laboring and delivering her my blood pressure was still very high. It would go up and down but mostly high the whole time. My doctor kept a close eye on me. I had to stay at the hospital an extra day. That was fine I was grateful for the help. When we were finally able to come home I was very ready.
The baby is about 3 months now. We have done some very fun things with her already. She had her first photo shoot with her cousin Kai. We also went to Rexburg to see her aunt Michelle. On February 5th we blessed our beautiful baby girl. We are happy for this weekend we are going to Las Vegas to see Cheyo's Aunt and his Grandpa. Picture to come shortly of all of this. I hope this brings you up to date.
